NaruSaku in Road to Ninja
I've seen a lot of other pairing fans saying that the Naruto and Sakura stuff in the movie is just platonic friendship, so we shouldn't be celebrating over anything in it.

First of all, even if there is nothing overtly romantic/non-platonic (which there is, but I'll get to that later), two things still remain true:

1.  Kishimoto wrote this movie to pretty much exactly his specifications and wanting (to the point where he said he made his editors cry and that he put as much effort into this as the manga).  The relationship that he chose to focus on after parental bonds is Naruto and Sakura's.  Not Sasuke and Sakura's, not Naruto and Hinata's, not even Naruto and Sasuke's.  They get frustrated with one another at the beginning of the movie.  Sakura comes to gain a better understanding of Naruto during the movie and what he went through.  She not only wants to apologize to him for her earlier comments (about parents and Sasuke), wants to preserve his happiness ("Naruto is happy in this world?"), and is the one to bring him back to reality (according to a non pairing fan who saw the movie).  Sakura helps Naruto to realize that reality is better than fantasy (she brought the 4th's cloak along to remind Naruto about the sacrifices his real parents made or something to that effect I've heard), and he goes to risk his life to save her when the AU Minato and Kushina don't want to and say its too dangerous.  It's not just focus, its development.  It just goes to show that Kishimoto values the relationship and wants to focus on it.

2.  All of this "platonic" friendship development/focus portrays the strength of the relationship overall, and lays a terrific foundation for any future romance.  One of the things I love most about Naruto and Sakura is that they have this strong basis of friendship to build off of, so why shouldn't I (and other NS fans) celebrate seeing more of that foundation in a movie made by Kishi?

Secondly, there certainly are plenty of non-platonic NaruSaku moments in the movie.  Naruto blushing when Sakura drags him to the park at the beginning of the movie and thinking it is a date, Kiba assuming Naruto and Sakura are on a date, Hinata getting jealous of Sakura (because of her relationship with Naruto), Hinata getting angry at Naruto for taking Sakura's side over hers, Sakura calling the whole fiasco "the longest date ever".

And as much as people rag on NaruSaku for bringing up MinaKushi parallels, they are just undeniably obvious here - Sakura kidnapped by Tobi and chained up in the exact same manner Kushina was, Naruto putting on the kage cloak in the exact same manner Minato did his final night, Naruto saving Sakura bridal style the same way Minato did Kushina, Naruto beating Tobi with the exact same move Minato did Tobi.  And then Naruto says that a kids job is to surpass his parents?  Then Kishi flashbacks MinaKushi's final night at the same time.  Come on now — even an SS fan who saw the movie commented on this in his or her review of the movie from pixiv by calling NaruSaku the next generation MinaKushi.

So yes, I think there is legitimately quite a lot for NaruSaku fans to be pleased about and celebrate with this movie.  And no, the movie isn't canon, and doesn't make NaruSaku canon - its all just fan service.  But at least this fan service is Kishimoto approved/created.
well,I found this in tumblr xD
it's kinda true xD
in Road to Ninja there's more NaruSaku moments than NaruHina or SasuSaku! xD
just read and you will understand!

i find it funny when we saw all the sasusaku and naruhina promotional images fans where like 'oh it so canon' and validating it because kishi wrote this and all
but as soon as we find out the it's more narusaku they say 'oh it just fanservice'
double standers much...

Actually, (in my mosthonest opinion) the part of SasuSaku and NaruHina are the fanservice.

It'll show what would happen if Hinata becomes the 'Sakura' for Naruto. You may lie, but God knows how many NaruHina fans do that. They change Hinata to be more like Sakura.

And the SasuSaku part... it shows how it'd be if Sasuke likes Sakura.

Yeah... not a pretty sight for both of 'em.

Glad someone can read between the lines. NaruSaku even if it isn't as in your face as the SasuSaku NaruHina pandering in this film, is still their.

*sobs* Thank you so much! I am currently having a naruhina NaruSaku war with a dude right now (been going on for about a month) and we've both been stating and going back over episodes, manga, ova, and other things. He's really ticked me off and made me realize some thing like HINAta and KusHINA and how kushina and hinata were changed by Minato and Naruto and that Sakura wasn't changed, but this totally cheered me up. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

And you know what? This movie has nothing to do with the damn manga. I don't see why you rabid shippers are making a big deal over this stupid movie and the other Naruto movies. If you want to debate shipping focus on the manga.

Kishimoto wrote this movie for fun really. Something like a break from Naruto (the manga). He wanted to explore the idea of "What would the Naruverse be like with Naruto parents alive?" and that's the whole point of the movie.

You NaruSaku-ers forget (constantly) that Sakura is still in love with Sasuke. If Sakura has developed any non-platonic brother/sister feelings for Naruto, she will never outwardly display them towards him, cause she's still holding out for Sasuke.

What about her confession? Oh, no doubt she loves him... like a sister. I would do a lot for my brother. A lot to make him happy. Even Naruto seems to realize that yes, Sakura loves me, but not in the way I want.
He said as much when he told her he hates people that lie to themselves. Anyone that is a sister and has a brother can easily draw similarities with growing up with your brother between Naruto and Sakura.

I berate my brother for being stupid, I've hit my brother yet at the end of the day I want him to be happy. I would stand in front of the enemy and protect him. Naruto and Sakura do this for each other. Yet I have no romantic interest in my brother.

And there are MinaKushi/NaruHina parrells too. Don't think that MinaKushi only applies to NaruHina.

I also find it funny that "NaruSaku" is the feature of a fanservice movie. Normally fanservice, is to service fans because it's probably unlikely to happen in the actual canon. Just something interesting to think about.

And the kill joy... It can never be avoided. I don't understand why you had to comment if you don't like NaruSaku. (I'm not saying that NaruSaku fans don't do this too.) You saw this was about NaruSaku, the title says it all. No, other NaruHina fans had commented about this, I see only NaruSaku fans.

I'm sorry but, I forgot what I said. :meow: And NaruSaku is still onesided. Sakura considers Naruto a very close friend, probably on the level of a brother.

Well, it was basically a anti NaruSaku rant. And NaruHina isn't onesided? :/ How do you know this? There is nothing in the manga that says she sees him as a brother. Plus in the latest data book it says, "Sakura is feeling something toward Naruto, but she doesn't know what it is." That wouldn't be in there for nothing. It didn't say, "Sakura sees Naruto as a close friend." or "Sakura sees Naruto as a brother."

But, hey it's your opinion. I'm not going to argue.

There's a fourth data book? I have databook number 3. Meh.

According to Narutopedia, which is as close as I can get to a databook, says that Sakura still views Naruto as a friend.

Ummm... Well, that's nice and all but I think the databooks are more... um, accurate. They are written by Kishimoto afterall. I think he would know what he would be talking about more so than the people who made the Narutopedia. It is his manga after all.

In the latest databook, databook three it clearly states,

“When she was younger, the one Sakura yearned for, then loved, was Sasuke. Naruto was merely a nuisance, the loser who always came between her and Sasuke. But as she goes over the various missions in the past and Sakura comes to a realization. When times were hard, when she wanted to give up on life, it was always that nuisance, Naruto who protected and encouraged her. How does she feel about Naruto? Sakura still has not found the answer.”

Kishimoto did not have to write in, "How does she feel about Naruto, Sakura still has not found the answer.", but he did. He could have just said, "Sakura finds Naruto as a very close friend and comrade." or "Sakura see Naruto as a brother." if that's how he saw their relationship. So, because of this the argument of Sakura seeing Naruto as a close friend or younger brother is invalid.

Kishimoto is the world's biggest troll.

And the stuff on Narutopedia goes off the databooks, dumbass.

And I have databook three.

I mean, I have nothing against you as a person nor do I think you are a complete fool for loving NaruSaku. I just think it's not likely to happen. I could be wrong. I've been wrong before.

I went to the Narutopedia page, and I found most of what they said on there to be false, not all but most. Really, Narutopedia is a fan biased page and if they do actually base the information off of the databooks they add their own twist. Anyway, I don't trust in those sites to give me true information, the only one that knows Kishimoto's story is Kishimoto himself. So, I'm sticking the databooks he made.

Um, sure, okay? What does his trolling have to do with anything? Are you implying that what he put in his databook is trolling with NaruSaku fans? Why would he even do that? In the manga, yes, I can see him trolling. But in a book of information on the characters and such? I can't see him doing that.

Well it's not like I really look at the Narutopedia... But despite that I know that sites like those can be not up to date. :/ Besides, I just look at the databooks really. So my bad, I didn't know. No need for insults.

Then you could've looked and saw that what I was saying about Sakura is correct and your argument of saying Sakura sees Naruto as just a friend/brother is still invalid.

Okay, thanks, I guess. Good luck to you and NaruHina.

You found this tumbler....man, i think i overlook the pages...LOL

The writer also forgot the teasing and threatening shown in RTN. Naruto was teased by his AU parents twice and Sakura also threatened by AU hinata about her and naruto twice. And naruto also said "Happy Date" and "Let's have another date" to sakura twice. These teasing and threatening words were the first act towards serious relationship.

NaruSaku is in my almighty opinion the best pairing of the main characters since, you know, the other main two are about the guy falling for a girl he barely even knows (NaruHina) and the other is the continued support to a guy who has actually tried to kill her before he even knew her intentions to kill him (SasuSaku).

The only pairing on par of it in Naruto's generation is ShikaTema...probably cause I prefer pairings created from friendships now that I think about it.
